A beautiful C. 1870s electroplate fish serving set in its original box by the makers Lee & Wigfull. The set is ornately decorated with motifs of leaves & branches, and have antler handles both have ornate sterling end caps The antique silver is marked: "L & W" (Lee & Wigfull) Anchor mark (Assay office Birmingham) "S" (Sheffield) *along the top of the handles is the mark "R 27581" Founded in 1871 with George Shadford Lee as Senior Partner and Henry Wigfull, a Britannia metal smith and son of the owner of Sheaf Corn Mills on Forge Lane. By 1879 the business had been dissolved but Henry Wigfull did not change the company name when he registered the silver mark ‘HW’. Approx.
