This oil painting is done on board, and signed in the bottom left corner. It is in an original early 20th century frame in great shape.
The backside of the painting has the following inscribed in pencil:
"At Chili Bar. #550 Mother Lode Country near Placerville.
Alfred R. Mitchell. Slate mine on the American River. Keep."
There is also a later sticker from retailer Marshall Field & Co.
This is a great California Plein Air Impressionist painting of the northern California / Sacramento area.
