This is a beautiful Winter landscape oil painting on Board by the California impressionist painter, Edmond Woods. This painting depicts a snowy river scene with aspens in the foreground. This painting uses a similar palette technique as the work of Maurice Braun.
In 1926, Edmond Woods studied with Maurice Brain in San Diego and continued his studies in Los Angeles at the Otis Art Institute and the Chouinard Art Institute. A student of native American cultures, he is known for both his harbor depictions, and landscapes of the desert southwest. Reflecting his artistic interests, he was a member of the La Jolla Art Association and the Desert Art Center in Palm Springs.
Condition: In good age related, unrestored condition, no losses to the paint. Slight crack to the front left bottom of the frame. Please see all photos.
