This mexican retablo depicts three people on their knees with candles praying to
the Santisima Virgen of San Juan de los Lagos, for healing Senior Teodoro Perez.
This is by the wife Maria Ponciano de P. and the daughter Josefina Perez.
El Refugio, Leon Guanajuato is the location and January 27th of 1956 is the date.
This piece is one of the more striking compositions, with the bands of color
in the background of blue, teal and orange. The people are painted with style and conformity,
which shows a skill from the artist. The lettering is very nicely done,
and this is overall one of the nicer folk art retablos we have seen.
