17th Century Large Ethereal Circle of Poussin Painting Cherubs by the River
We are offering a very large oil painting depicting an ethereal scene
of a group of cherubs gathered by a river bringing offerings to a Madonna-esque
figure and her male counterpart. In the background, a cherub leads a horse to the water,
and off to the right, a fisherman approaches the river bank.
Exotic birds are perched in tall trees, whose shaded undersides are broken by the cloud-filled sky.
This painting is very large and would certainly shine as a centerpiece on a prominent wall. This painting appears to have been conserved in Holland, and judging from the old labels retailed in Holland. The frame is 20th c.

Great age-related condition. Frame and canvas are in solid shape. Small losses to paint
