We're offering a remarkable 18th - century Niche, (housing - recess)
with Santo, Saint Francis
Both objects are in wonderful, original paint. The Niche can be purchased separately.
Because our Saint Francis Statue fit so perfectly inside the Niche, we feel he has found his home.
We will not sell the Saint separately.
Appropriate age-related condition.
The paint looks to be mostly original, although we have not looked at it under UV light.
Interestingly, the roof you see is (actually) the bracket base holding up the Niche. The bun feet are replacements.
The stars painted under the bracket shelf was for beauty; when the parishioners looked up, they saw the sky.
There are great signs of the original gilding and the original paint to the Niche.
Saint Francis is in the original paint and has age apparent shrinkage.
The candles are not included.
