Pair of Late 19th C. Meiji Cloisonne Vases w/ Silver Wiring Birds and Dragon
We are offering...
A pair of striking Late 19th century baluster shaped cloisonne vases, full of powerful colors and intricate silver wire work.
There are four shields on each vase, two with very beautiful phoenix birds, and the other two with dragons.
This pair are almost mirror images, except for the middle band of patterns, which on one has two other birds, and on the other is just flowers, leaves, and scrolls.
These vases are full of powerful colors, and the enameling is amazing throughout, with sparkling speckled textures.
The insides and bottoms are different shades of green on each vase, as can be seen in the photos.
The foot rims and top edge rim are silver.
