This Lovely and Rare original Gouache and Watercolor Painting of the
"Bay of Naples" by the well listed Italian artist Ugo Gianni.
The painting is signed and dated 1902, and has a plaque
on the frame reading "Napoli".
Also, This Painting is in its original black shadow box frame
Visitors to Naples in the early 20th c. purchased many
of his paintings of Naples with people enjoying their day
at Naples harbor with Mt. Vesuvius in the back round.
It was said that "you can't come back from Naples without a Gianni".
These Grand Tour paintings were copied by many other artists during that period of time.
Ugo Gianni was one of the better and popular Neapolitan Artistes at the time
This Beautiful painting in it's original gilt frame has been protected
through the ages by its original ebonized glass covered shadow box frame.
Condition:
It is in good original condition, with some minor nicks and minor paint
loss on the edges to the outer black Shadow box frame.
