  • The highly detailed decoration has French marks and a date of 1742 on one of the Grotesque Masks
  • Pieces from the Rococo period were known for their exuberant ornamentation, 
  • which sometimes included grotesque masks integrated into the design. 
  • French Rococo, appeared in Paris during the reign of Louis XV, and flourished between about 1723 and 1759.[21] 
  • The characteristics of French Rococo include exceptional artistry 
  • and the use of vegetal forms (vines, leaves, flowers) intertwined in complex designs
