An Italian Micro-Mosaic winged cherub
magnificently rendered in this beautiful handcrafted
antique micro mosaic brooch.
Popular during the Victorian era.
Made of minute fragments of opaque colored glass or enamel
pulled into thin rods or threads
(filati) and sliced into tiny cubes or shapes
Hand fabricated with 18K gold, circa 1880s.
Approx. Dimensions: 3/4" diameter circular
Approx. weight: 5 g.
Condition: This is a beautiful Italian Micro Mosaic brooch, excellent condition for its age. Possible missing tiles on the forehead of the cherub unable to confirm.
