We are offering a historic watercolor by the artist John Rubens Smith (1775-1849)

An exact copy of this piece was lithographed by J.H. Bufford and published as "The Residence of Jeffrey Richardson".
This lithograph is in the collection of the Boston Public Library. The residence was on the Corner of High & Pearl Street, in Boston. and was erected 1794.

J.H. Bufford made many lithographs from illustrations by J.R. Smith of these Boston Street Scenes. 

The original watercolor illustrations have a very distinct color palette and style, and we are very confident in attributing this watercolor to John Rubens Smith by way of the style of execution, as well as historical determinations laid out above.
