We are offering an original Oil Board painting by artist E. H. Pohl: "Golden Grasses on The Jamul Ranch" dated July 6, 1951.

The back of the painting has a card that reads:
E. H. Pohl Landscapes in oil and pastel
La Mesa California.

Ernest Pohl was a businessman who founded the La Jolla, California Art Center with his Wife, he did pastel painting in his leisure time. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and by 1915 he had settled in San Diego at 4468 Hortensia Street. His works include desert landscapes of Coachella Valley and Borrego Valley. Exhibition venues include the La Jolla Art Association and the University of Notre Dame at South Bend. He died in San Diego on Jan. 9, 1956. Source:. Edan Hughes, "Artists in California, 1786-1940".
