A Wonderful 18th c rare Miniature Portrait of
Jacques Edouard Verani de Varenne
Born August 25 1735 in Montdidier, France
He died in the early 1800's, exact date unknown.
He was employed by the King as the
"receiver of sizes in the election of Montdidier"
The beautiful watercolor portrait on paper
Faintly signed as seen in some photos.
is mounted under an early watch crystal
in a yellow French Bronze Frame.
His name finely etched
on the back of the bronze frame
and also written in ink on paper
behind the portrait.
This piece appears to be all original,
as you can see it still retains it's
