19th c. Russian Icon Madonna & Child with Silver Riza Standard Kokoshnik Silver Mark, (84) Unable to tell maker or city mark.(See photo for good representation) The Riza or Oklad was the metal cover protecting the Icon beneath. The Riza has dents, cracks and tarnish from age related use. The beautifully colored Icon has minor paint loss from rubbing of the Silver Riza. There is a later metal ring attached to top of Icon for hanging. Dimensions Approximate: 5 1/4" length 4 3/8" wide 1 1/4" thickness The overall condition is in very good age related use There are small losses to the paint on the icon from Riza and dents, cracks and tarnish to Riza.
