19th century Engraved Gold and deep Cobalt and guilloche EnameledBrooch This unique Mourning brooch is Circular in design, The Dark Cobalt Enamel lies over a field of Scroll Engraving. Four Drops graduate upward from a Fifth center drop, each drop is mounted to the brooch by fine chain, each Chain runs parallel under a bridge of Ten gold mounted pearls. The Gold has tested at 14K - 15K. Dates 1860 - 1880 Dimensions: 1 1/2" in diameter The center drop falls 2" below it's mount. The overall length of this brooch, Top to Drop: 2 1/2" Approx overall weight: 23.5g Condition: this brooch is in very fine age related condition with no cracks or breaks to the enamel and only minor signs of age to the gold drops and the frame, (SEE PHOTOS) PLEASE NOTE: The last Two Photographs of the Brooch's Blue Enamel are in sunlight, to show the guilloche engraving through the dark blue enamel These Two Photos are partially enhanced.
