Antique 1920s Austrian .935 Silver, Multi Color Enamel Marcasite Petit Point Tapestry Purse

An elegant silver and enamel framed Austrian purse adorned on both sides with a petit point tapestry scene. The scene depicts a beautiful terrace draped in curtains and chains of roses leading out to a garden in the countryside. The purse has an intricate snap closure with a black enamel detail, patterned with purple & black enamel & jeweled silver .935 frame. Small chain linked metal holds as the purse's handle. The accessory is lined with a tan silk interior, with two side pockets. A very small Austrian hallmark can be found on the front side of purse, on the clasp closure.

There are small tears throughout the purse's tapestry (please see all photos) Sterling and enamel frame is in good condition. Small tear in the front rounded corner of the purse's piping. Frame & clasp closes securely. Minor tears in the interior lining. 28 Marcasites missing on front, and 73 marcasites missing on back.
