Arizona Desert Monument Valley
Ernest Pohl was businessman who founded the La Jolla, California Art Center with his Wife, he did pastel painting in his leisure time. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, and by 1915 he had settled in San Diego at 4468 Hortensa Street. His works include desert landscapes of Coachella Valley and Borrego Valley. Exhibition venues include the La Jolla Art Association and the University of Notre Dame at South Bend. He died in San Diego on Jan. 9, 1956. Source:. Edan Hughes, "Artists in California, 1786-1940".
