artist Ernest Pohl.
These two framed pastel plein air landscapes were part of an important Mt. Helix estate
collection of E. H. Pohl paintings California plein air art. They are unsigned. (SEE PHOTOS)
Ernest and his wife founded the La Jolla, California Art Center,
Ernest Pohl was a businessman who did pastel and oil painting in his leisure time.
Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1874,
by 1915 he had settled in San Diego at 4468 Hortensia Street.
he passed way in 1956.
