A rare and beautiful portrait in miniature, signed, Emanuel Thomas Peter, (1799-1873)
The lovely blue eyed Lady in this miniature painting is wearing the finest velvets of the period.
Her pearl earrings are exquisite, yet understated as to not over power her youthful beauty.
Emanuel Thomas Peter studied and painted in Vienna, Austria.
A student of Moritz Michael Daffinger, he rose to great esteem in the 1840s and 50s.
Emmanuel's most famous paintings include the Austrian royal families; no doubt, she is of royal blood.
The watercolor gouache painting is signed by the artist in the lower right.
The painting is under glass and is with it's old leather back. We believe the frame is antique, although later period.
Presently it is set in a 19th c. miniature frame, held in place with 2 small nails (can easily be removed).
